Persistent insomnia can cause heart attacks and stroke

Medical experts from the UK and Sweden have said after extensive research that people with persistent insomnia, especially women, may be at increased risk of heart disease and stroke, as research shows a deep link between insomnia and artery narrowing. The relationship has been discovered.

However, scientists have clearly written that we cannot conclude that unconsciousness is the main cause of cardiovascular disease or that the two conditions have any correlation. This research is led by Susanna Larson, a Carolinaska Institute specialist in Stockholm.

In this first survey of its kind, Susanna and colleagues used the "Mendelian method" attributed to Gregor Mendel in their research. This technique also incorporates genetic factors associated with a symptom to minimize any bias and bias in the results. Now find out how many people were surveyed. So, about 13 million people have been studied for a long time and four major studies have been included in this regard.

Scientists found that genetic factors that led to sleep deprivation were linked to cardiovascular disease and a type of (ischemic) stroke. That is, the genes that do not give you gold, the same genes are also the enemy of the heart and cause paralysis of the major arteries.

Susanna said that this research showed how important sleep is for life and that heart failure can be protected by removing insomnia in psychological and other ways. However, there are limitations and drawbacks to this research. Experts have not yet identified the underlying cause of the lack of sleep, but have discussed the genetic cause. Further research on this context is urgently needed.
